Our 1st Anniversary

Last Sunday (5th Dec) was our 1st wedding anniversary. Since there are many things that need to be taken care of on that day, we have to wait until evening to celebrate. My husband decided to have a dinner of two, buffet style at a restaurant in Shah Alam, which is something that I had wish for. I don't need a fancy celebration or a party, just spending some time where there's only me and my husband is enough. I got a new handphone a few days before the date and an anniversary wish & doa from my dearest mommy a day before. Thank you mama.

Without realizing, a year has passed but we still have a long way to go. Our path has just begun. Looking back at the 1st year of our marriage, there were many obstacles that we had overcame but the biggest are yet to come. For this 1 year, we are really grateful and thank you Allah for letting us passed through this 1 year.

Sitting alone after our 1st anniversary celebration makes me wonder, what will happen in the next 5 years or 10 years or maybe 30 years? Will our marriage lasts? How will Allah test us in the future? Will Allah give us chance to have children? Thinking of these reminds of the "Kursus Kahwin" that everyone of us need to take before getting married. One the Ustaz, who is also a counselor in Jabatan Agama, said, "The first 2 to 3 years of marriage are honeymoon years. These are the years when 'kentut pun bau wangi'. During these years you will be cherishing each other as if there is no one else in this world except both of you. The next 15 to 20 years are the most challenging years. During these years, even a perfume is smelly, your wife is not as beautiful as the time you married her and your husband becomes the most irritating creature in your eyes. However, if you can survive these years, the next years, Insya Allah will be the most beautiful years ever and your marriage will last." These kind of things scares me but I will not give up. Yes, I want to survive! I believe that we will always have Allah to turn to and if we hold tightly in Quran & Sunnah, everything will be easier.

For this anniversary, I wish nothing more than having a soleh husband & children, Insya Allah. May we be guided by Allah for all the time as nothing is greater than Allah s.w.t.
